I know, very late to the game. But I’m a big believer now. Marc Andreessen, says that Groupon can play the same advertising role for small, offline businesses, like dry cleaners and cafes, that Google’s AdWords has played for online businesses.

Considering the source, that could have been a steal for 6 billion dollars . Now they have $950 million to play with and expand.

Top 30 songs of 2010

My personal favorites from the past year.

1. Aloe Blacc – I Need A Dollar

This song sums up everything that happened this year.

2. Gil Scott-Heron – On Coming From A Broken Home

“And I loved her from the absolute marrow of my bones” is so damn painfully beautiful. I plan on using it when saying my nuptials.

3. Vampire Weekend – Giving Up The Gun

Jake Gyllenhaal doesn’t want you to forget his comedic chops a la Bubble Boy.

4. LCD Soundsystem – All I Want

5. Fang Island – Daisy

6. Surfer Blood – Catholic Pagans

There were too many songs I could have picked here, but since I had to pick just one.

7. Baloji – Le Jour d’Apres / Siku Ya Baadaye

Everyone here looks SO painfully cool.

8. Cee Lo Green – Fuck You

9. Kanye West – Runaway

Cheers douchebag!

10. The National – Bloodbuzz Ohio

11. Arcade Fire – Modern Man

12. The Walkmen – Angela Surf City

13. Erykah Badu – Window Seat

14. Morning Benders – Excuses

Lush and beautiful, the version they recorded in the video is even better than the album. Get that Reese’s money.

15. The Black Keys – Tighten Up

Another great song to whistle to.

16. Broken Bells – The High Road

I suspect that Dangermouse has one great song in him per collaboration. This would be it.

17. Nas and Damian Marley – Patience

As great as Nas is, Damian totally steals the show on this collaboration.

18. Toro y Moi – Blessa

19. Sleigh Bells – Crown On The Ground

20. Broken Social Scene – All To All

I almost don’t miss Feist. Almost.

21. Gonjasufi – Ancestors

22. Yeasayer – Ambling Alp

23. Big Boi – Be Still

24. The Drums – Let’s Go Surfing

25. Delorean – Stay Close

26. Baths – Apologetic Shoulderblades

27. Girls – Thee Oh So Protective One

28. Best Coast – When I’m With You

29. Menomena – Queen Black Acid

30. Simon Perry – Take On Me

I couldn’t resist. A fun cover for a fun show.
